Summary

Once the organization is strategically aligned and teams know their goals, they must be capable of achieving those goals. This depends on the skills of the people. This module explains how organizations can build or acquire these skills. Organizations must either develop or hire these skills. Everyone on every team needs to understand how to hire well and be focused on the continuous improvement of their capabilities and skills.

    • Identify the strategically important skills and abilities needed to accomplish goals.

    • Consider the training and/or hiring necessary to acquire the appropriate skills.

    • Evaluate each team for current capabilities and the gaps that exist.

  • Everyone in the organization is prepared to contribute.
